The 30 yard container in Bentonville

The 30 yard takes up the same 22 by 7.5 feet of ground as the 20 — the extra volume is all height. That makes it the natural pick when a job makes a lot of bulky or mixed debris but the site has no more room: a multi-room or full-house renovation, an estate or rental property cleanout, a retail or office remodel, light demolition or a community cleanup. It holds about 30 cubic yards, roughly nine pickup truck loads or 170 to 190 standard 33-gallon bags, and it fits most residential and commercial properties.

The walls are about six feet high, so most of what goes in is carried or thrown rather than tipped from a wheelbarrow. Contractors and property managers with a crew do not mind, and it means fewer haul-offs on a busy site; a homeowner working alone may prefer a 20 and a swap.

Space needed

a flat, solid spot about 22 feet long and 8 feet wide (a driveway, pad or job site, not the lawn), about 60 feet of clear approach for the roll-off truck to back in, and about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of power lines and branches

Big renovations, estates and commercial remodels

Taking several rooms back to the studs fills a 30 in a hurry: drywall, framing, cabinets, flooring and fixtures. Estate and move-out cleanouts land here too — furniture, mattresses and mixed junk — and so do retail and office remodels with racking, displays and partitions, and community or HOA cleanups. Sort a few things first: fridges, freezers and A/C units that still hold refrigerant, paint, fuel, batteries and tires stay out. Tell us what is in the building and we talk through where those go.

Bigger buildings bring state paperwork. Arkansas's asbestos rule covers "facilities" and excludes residential buildings with four or fewer dwelling units (20 CAR § 860-104(32)(A)). For anything else — an apartment building, a store, an office — the owner must have it inspected for asbestos before demolition or renovation starts (§ 860-105), and any demolition needs written notice to the Division of Environmental Quality at least ten working days ahead, even if no asbestos is present (§ 860-201(a)). Asbestos never goes in our roll-offs, whatever the building.

Weight, swaps and long jobs

Usually 4 to 5 tons is included, depending on the debris type. The 30 is built for bulky materials such as wood, drywall, roofing and mixed construction waste; tile, plaster, shingles, wet yard waste and concrete can hit the tonnage before the container is full, so stage heavy debris separately and ask us for the most cost-efficient size. The flat rate covers delivery and pickup, disposal up to the included tonnage and a standard rental period of 3 to 7 days. Jobs that run longer go on extensions or swap-outs, and contractors can ask about job-site rotations and PO billing.

Suitability

Is the 30 yard the right size for you?

Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what usually decides.

Choose the 30 yard for

  • Multi-room and full-house renovations
  • Estate and rental property cleanouts
  • Retail and office remodels
  • Light demolition and remodel tear-outs
  • Community and HOA cleanups

Pick a different size for

  • Mostly concrete, brick or dirt — a 10 or 15 manages the weight better
  • Fridges and A/C units that still hold refrigerant
  • Paint, fuel, solvents and other hazardous material
  • Asbestos and medical waste

Placing a 30 yard container in Bentonville

It needs a flat, solid spot about 22 feet long and 8 feet wide (a driveway, pad or job site, not the lawn), about 60 feet of clear approach for the roll-off truck to back in, and about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of power lines and branches. The driveway comes first. In Bentonville, City Code § 42-80 says: "No pickups or hauling of refuse shall be made except by city-owned or authorized vehicles. Authorized vehicles shall be those as to which the owner has a written contract with the city." Homes and businesses use the City's collection service, run by a contractor under a City contract (§ 42-71), and we found no City page that mentions roll-offs or construction debris. So we check the City's requirements and the placement with you before booking. On a Bentonville street, a City right-of-way permit is needed for any work in the public right-of-way (§ 50-721), § 82-120 makes it an offense to obstruct a street, alley or sidewalk, and a truck over three tons may park on a street only while loading or unloading - in residential zones only between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (§ 94-63). So the driveway comes first. Elsewhere the street rule is written down too: Rogers wants a ROW Use Permit before a dumpster goes in a street, right-of-way or public parking space, with a site plan and a traffic control plan for work in the street; Lowell bars obstructing any street or sidewalk (§ 22-5), so a Lowell container stays on the property; Springdale bars putting refuse or building materials on a street (§ 110-3); Siloam Springs bars obstructing streets and rights-of-way unless the administrator grants a written variance (§ 86-3); and Pea Ridge bars parking trucks over 6,000 lb on any street that is not a marked truck route (§ 8.08.01(E)). Arkansas law holds state highway right-of-way "inviolate for state highway purposes" and allows no encroachments in it (Ark. Code § 27-67-304), and we found no ArDOT permit for a container, so a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-49, US-71, US-62, US-412, AR-12, AR-72, AR-102 or AR-112. Check any neighborhood association rules too. Protective boards can go under the rails on request. Each city page covers its own rules.

30 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked

Not covered here? Call (479) 364-6745 and ask.

Is a 30 yard too big for a house?

For a regular cleanout, often yes — a whole-home cleanout usually fits a 20. For a full-house renovation or a large estate cleanout, no — that volume arrives faster than people expect. Tell us the job and we will say which.

Can I do swaps on a 30 yard?

Yes. When it is full we haul it and rotate in an empty one, and contractors with ongoing work can set up job-site rotations.

How much weight is included in a 30 yard?

Usually 4 to 5 tons, depending on the debris type. A 30 full of tile, dirt or concrete can pass that well before it reaches the top rail, so we estimate heavy loads with you during the quote.

Do I need a permit for a 30 yard?

It depends on where it sits and which city you are in. Arkansas law holds state highway right-of-way "inviolate for state highway purposes" and allows no encroachments in it (Ark. Each city page says what that city asks for.
