The 10 yard container in Bentonville

The 10 yard is the one we send when the job is one room, one garage or one weekend. At about 14 feet long and 7.5 feet wide it is the smallest container we run, so it suits driveways, small spaces and older neighborhoods where access is tight — a narrow drive near downtown Bentonville, a tight lot in Rogers, a sloped drive in Bella Vista. It holds about 10 cubic yards, roughly three pickup truck loads or 50 to 70 standard 33-gallon trash bags.

Where the 10 yard earns its keep is weight. Concrete, brick, tile, asphalt and dirt reach the limit long before a bigger box looks full, so heavy material goes in the smaller containers, and the 10 is the one built for it. The included weight allowance on a 10 is 1 to 2 tons. Tell us what is going in and we help you estimate the weight, so you are not surprised by an overage and do not pay for space you will not use.

Space needed

a flat, solid spot about 14 feet long and 8 feet wide (a driveway, pad or job site, not the lawn), about 60 feet of clear approach for the roll-off truck to back in, and about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of power lines and branches

Small remodels, cleanouts and the heavy stuff

A small kitchen or bathroom remodel — tile, tub, vanity, a bit of drywall — sits comfortably in a 10 yard. So does a single-room or garage cleanout, a small flooring job, a load of concrete, brick, asphalt or rock, or a modest roofing job with the weight checked first. Homeowners, small contractors and handymen all use it, and on a driveway it is easy to back in and easy to load over the 3.5-foot sides.

It suits the area because the public options are built for small household loads. The Benton County Solid Waste District's special-waste drop-offs take household items only — no building materials of any kind, no household trash and no commercial vehicles — and in Rogers, curbside carts may not hold construction materials such as lumber, drywall or shingles, dirt or bathroom fixtures. Anything more than a trunk-load of remodel debris is what a 10 yard on the driveway is for.

The weight line on a 10 yard

The included allowance on a 10 yard is 1 to 2 tons, and your quote states it. Household junk rarely gets close. A 10 filled with dirt, concrete or shingles can, so spread the load evenly, keep everything below the top rim — an overfilled container cannot legally be hauled — and tell us it is coming. If a load goes over the allowance, we weigh the container and an overage fee applies; we explain that before delivery. The flat rate covers delivery and pickup, disposal and a standard rental period of 3 to 7 days, with no hidden fuel surcharges or environmental fees. On the road, the Benton County Solid Waste District wants open loads tarped above 35 mph (8 CAR § 110-612(b)(2)(B)).

Suitability

Is the 10 yard the right size for you?

Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what usually decides.

Choose the 10 yard for

  • Small kitchen or bathroom remodel
  • Single-room and garage cleanouts
  • Concrete, brick, tile, asphalt and dirt, within the weight limit
  • Small roofing jobs, with the weight checked first
  • Tight driveways and small spaces

Pick a different size for

  • A whole-home cleanout — that is a 20
  • Big, bulky loads of furniture (you run out of room first)
  • Paint, fuel, oil, chemicals, batteries, tires or asbestos
  • Fridges or A/C units that still hold refrigerant

Placing a 10 yard container in Bentonville

It needs a flat, solid spot about 14 feet long and 8 feet wide (a driveway, pad or job site, not the lawn), about 60 feet of clear approach for the roll-off truck to back in, and about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of power lines and branches. The driveway comes first. In Bentonville, City Code § 42-80 says: "No pickups or hauling of refuse shall be made except by city-owned or authorized vehicles. Authorized vehicles shall be those as to which the owner has a written contract with the city." Homes and businesses use the City's collection service, run by a contractor under a City contract (§ 42-71), and we found no City page that mentions roll-offs or construction debris. So we check the City's requirements and the placement with you before booking. On a Bentonville street, a City right-of-way permit is needed for any work in the public right-of-way (§ 50-721), § 82-120 makes it an offense to obstruct a street, alley or sidewalk, and a truck over three tons may park on a street only while loading or unloading - in residential zones only between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (§ 94-63). So the driveway comes first. Elsewhere the street rule is written down too: Rogers wants a ROW Use Permit before a dumpster goes in a street, right-of-way or public parking space, with a site plan and a traffic control plan for work in the street; Lowell bars obstructing any street or sidewalk (§ 22-5), so a Lowell container stays on the property; Springdale bars putting refuse or building materials on a street (§ 110-3); Siloam Springs bars obstructing streets and rights-of-way unless the administrator grants a written variance (§ 86-3); and Pea Ridge bars parking trucks over 6,000 lb on any street that is not a marked truck route (§ 8.08.01(E)). Arkansas law holds state highway right-of-way "inviolate for state highway purposes" and allows no encroachments in it (Ark. Code § 27-67-304), and we found no ArDOT permit for a container, so a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-49, US-71, US-62, US-412, AR-12, AR-72, AR-102 or AR-112. Check any neighborhood association rules too. Protective boards can go under the rails on request. Each city page covers its own rules.

How much space does a 10 yard dumpster need?

The container is about 14 feet long and 7.5 feet wide. Pick a flat, solid spot such as a driveway or pad, leave about 60 feet of clear approach for the truck to back in, and check there are about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of power lines and branches. Move cars, bins and equipment out of the way, and mark the spot with cones or tape if you will not be home. In Bentonville we check the City's requirements and the placement with you before booking.

Can I put concrete in a 10 yard dumpster?

Yes, and the 10 is the right box for it. Heavier materials have strict weight limits for safety and transport, so concrete, brick and dirt go only in the smaller containers. Spread it evenly, keep it below the top rim, and tell us roughly how much there is — do not mix dirt or concrete with household junk without checking with us first.

How long do I get it for?

A standard rental period of 3 to 7 days, confirmed on your quote. Need more time? Call and we extend it for a small daily or weekly fee. If it fills before the job is done, we can swap it. Finished early? Call or text and we schedule an early pickup.

How much does a 10 yard dumpster cost?

Dumpster rental prices typically range from $350 to $750, depending on the dumpster size, the type of debris, the delivery location and the rental duration. We do not publish per-size prices: you get one flat-rate quote for your address that includes delivery, pickup and disposal, with no hidden fees. Call (479) 364-6745 for an exact price.
